COMPREHENSIVE EYE SERVICES

Your eyes are one of the most important parts of your body, so make sure you take good care of them. While there are a number of ways to make sure your eyes are healthy and looked after, one of the most important ways to do this is by seeing an eye doctor.

Joseph J. Devenuto Jr., M.D., is a board-certified eye physician and surgeon who can provide the comprehensive eye health services you need. Come see us in Doylestown, PA today.

During comprehensive eye exams, we evaluate your ocular health for refractive error and the presence of eye diseases and pathology. Our doctors will recommend appropriate remedies for patients with refractive errors, including prescription eyeglasses, contact lenses, and LASIK.  Patients with diseases of the eye, including cataracts, glaucoma, and macular degeneration, will be presented with recommended treatment plans.

If you are not seeing clearly, are experiencing pain or discomfort, or have been referred to a cataract or retina specialist, contact us to set up an appointment.

Diagnosis and treatment of all eye diseases and infections are provided in the office. Treatment of eye injuries is carried out medically and/or surgically.

A cataract is a clouding of the eye’s natural lens. This condition affects millions of individuals and usually develops slowly and causes a gradual reduction in vision. As cataracts limit your ability to see, they can cause glare, double vision, and make night driving difficult. Surgical correction with a variety of intraocular lenses can restore your vision to its pre-cataract state, or better.  Our doctors have vast experience with various state-of-the-art intraocular lenses, including the newest Crystalens to correct near and distant vision and the toric intraocular lenses to correct astigmatism.

Our doctors have performed thousands of cataract procedures with outstanding outcomes.

Glaucoma, in most cases, is an eye disease that is caused by increased pressure and/or poor circulation of natural fluids in the eye. These problems can result in damage to the optic nerves, causing gradual and complete loss of vision if left untreated.  While glaucoma used to commonly be treated with a series of expensive eye drops, the current standard of care is a Selective Laser Trabeculoplasty (SLT).  The SLT is a quick and painless procedure performed either in-office or within an ambulatory surgical center.

Dr. DeVenuto also specializes in treating retinal disease, including macular degenerative diseases, diabetic retinopathy and vessel occlusion. He completed his Retinal Fellowship at Wills Eye Hospital in Philadelphia, PA. This retinal fellowship provides him with the special skills which are necessary to treat retinal disease, including macular degeneration.

Treatments include administration of the newest intraocular medication for macular degeneration and diabetic retinopathy. Laser surgery for retinal tears, vessel occlusions and diabetic retinopathy are performed in all offices. Retinal detachment and intraocular foreign body removal are carried out utilizing the newest surgical technique.
